Body lift surgery in Delhi
Significant weight loss, pregnancy and ageing can leave areas of skin that no longer follow the body's contours. Body lift surgery removes excess skin and reshapes selected areas; facial and neck concerns require their own assessment and treatment plan.

What can body lift surgery address?
A body lift addresses loose skin and underlying tissue around areas such as the abdomen, waist, flanks, buttocks and thighs. The extent of treatment depends on where the skin has become redundant and how much correction is appropriate.
The term full body lift does not mean that every area is treated in a single operation. A plan may focus on the lower body or involve staged procedures. Changes in the face and neck can also be discussed, with a distinction between surgical lifting and less invasive options.

Lower body lift and belt lipectomy
A lower body lift, also called belt lipectomy, uses an incision extending around the trunk to remove hanging skin and improve support of the lower body. It may address the abdomen, waist and flanks along with the buttocks and outer thigh region. Concerns around the groin or inner thighs may need a separate assessment or procedure.
It is often considered after substantial weight loss and may also be relevant to changes after pregnancy or ageing. Sun damage and reduced skin elasticity can contribute to laxity. If the concern is mainly excess fat rather than loose skin, liposuction may be discussed instead of, or alongside, skin removal.
The operation leaves permanent scars. Dressings, a support garment and sometimes drains are part of aftercare; the extent of surgery determines activity restrictions and follow-up.
Facial rejuvenation
Facelift and neck lift options
A facelift may be considered for sagging around the jawline, lower face and neck. Concerns discussed during assessment can include:
- A less defined chin or jawline and loose neck skin.
- Loss of skin elasticity and support in the face and neck.
- Deep facial folds and a tired appearance.
- Sunken cheeks or changes in facial volume, which may need an additional approach.
In a traditional facelift, incisions commonly follow the hairline and the area around the ears. The deeper tissues are repositioned, the skin is redraped and excess skin is removed. A neck lift may address loose neck tissue and contour beneath the chin. Anaesthesia is selected for the planned operation.
The assessment considers the chin, cheeks, eyelids, eyebrows and neck together. A facelift does not automatically treat each of these areas or stop ageing; any additional treatment should have its own clear purpose.
A less invasive option
Where a thread lift fits
A thread lift uses specially designed sutures placed beneath the skin to support selected facial tissues. Contemporary techniques commonly use absorbable barbed threads, although the material and design vary. It may be considered for limited, early laxity.
This is a minimally invasive procedure with puncture or incision sites, rather than an equivalent replacement for a surgical facelift. The amount and duration of lifting vary. Swelling, bruising, discomfort, infection, visible or extruding threads and an unsatisfactory result are possible and should be discussed.
Your consultation
Planning a lift around your goals
Discuss which areas trouble you most, your weight history, general health and the change you hope to achieve. The consultation with Dr. Ashutosh Misra can compare body, face and neck options without assuming that they should all be treated together.
Ask about incision locations, recovery support, time away from work, aftercare and the total cost of each proposed stage. Surgery can improve selected contours, but the extent of improvement and the way scars heal differ between individuals.
