What is cheek augmentation?
Cheek augmentation is a procedure to increase fullness or define the contour of the cheek area. Options include solid cheek implants and grafting tissue, commonly fat, from another part of your body.

Cheek implants
Solid implants, including silicone implants, can add structure and projection to the cheeks. The surgeon selects the shape, size and position according to your anatomy and the intended change.
Fat grafting
Fat is taken from another area of your body, prepared and placed into the cheeks to add volume. Some transferred fat is absorbed during healing, so the amount retained varies and a further procedure may sometimes be needed.

Incisions and anaesthesia
Incision placement depends on the chosen technique. Cheek implants may be inserted through an incision inside the mouth or another carefully selected approach. Fat transfer uses small entry points at the donor area and the cheeks.
Your surgeon will explain the incision sites, closure and anaesthesia plan. Local anaesthesia, sedation or general anaesthesia may be considered according to the procedure and your needs. A discreet incision does not mean there will be no scar or recovery period.
