What is a breast lift?
A breast lift, or mastopexy, reshapes the breast and raises the nipple to a position suited to the new contour. Excess skin is removed and the surrounding tissue is tightened to provide support.
The procedure focuses on position and shape. It does not necessarily increase breast volume; the amount of existing tissue helps determine whether a lift alone can achieve the change you want.

Breasts may lose firmness or sit lower after pregnancy, nursing or substantial weight change. Heredity, ageing and gravity also influence skin elasticity and breast shape.
Assessment considers skin quality, the amount of breast tissue, nipple position and differences between the two sides. Suitability depends on breast development, health and expectations, rather than a promise that surgery is appropriate at any age.
Treatment options
A lift alone or a lift with augmentation
Breast lift alone
When there is enough existing tissue for the desired contour, a lift can reshape the breast and remove excess skin. The incision pattern and amount of lifting depend on the degree of sagging.
Breast lift with implants
When greater volume is also desired, a lift may be combined with breast augmentation. This may be planned together or in stages after considering the skin, tissue and additional implant-related risks.
