Eyelid correction surgery in Delhi
Eyelid correction addresses excess eyelid skin or fat that can create a heavy or tired appearance. A careful assessment also distinguishes these changes from a drooping eyelid that needs a different repair.

What is blepharoplasty?
Blepharoplasty is surgery to remove or reposition excess skin, fat and, in selected cases, muscle around the eyelids. Age-related changes can create loose skin, folds or puffiness, although eyelid concerns are not confined to a particular age.
Upper eyelid surgery aims to reduce excess tissue while respecting the natural eyelid crease and the ability of the eye to close comfortably. The appropriate treatment depends on the cause of the heaviness or droop.
Treatment options
Blepharoplasty and ptosis repair
Upper eyelid blepharoplasty
An incision is usually placed along the natural eyelid crease. The surgeon removes an appropriate amount of excess skin and, where needed, adjusts fat or muscle before closing the incision. The aim is a less heavy appearance without removing too much tissue.
Ptosis correction
Ptosis involves the position of the upper eyelid itself and may relate to the lifting muscle or its tendon. Depending on the cause, surgery may tighten or reattach these structures. It is not simply the removal of excess eyelid skin.
Your consultation
Planning eyelid surgery
Discuss the change you would like to achieve, any visual symptoms, previous eye treatment and your medical history. The surgeon should assess both appearance and eyelid function before recommending a procedure.
Local anaesthesia may be suitable for blepharoplasty and for many adult ptosis repairs. Sedation or general anaesthesia may be advised in other cases. The duration depends on which eyelids and structures are treated.
After your procedure
Allowing time for recovery
Many patients go home on the day of surgery after assessment. Swelling, bruising and temporary discomfort are expected during early healing. Some people take around two weeks away from work, depending on their procedure and occupation; bruising or redness can last longer.
Follow the prescribed eye-care instructions and attend follow-up appointments. A crease incision can help conceal a scar, but scars still take time to soften and may remain visible.
Results and considerations
What eyelid correction can change
For an appropriate candidate, treatment may reduce upper lid heaviness and create a more rested appearance. Ptosis repair may improve an obstructed field of view when the drooping lid is the cause. Surgery changes the eyelid tissues; it does not enlarge the eye itself.
Results and recovery vary. Discuss risks such as dry eyes, difficulty closing the eyes, asymmetry, bleeding and the possible need for further treatment. Rare vision-threatening complications should also be covered during informed consent.
